Challenge

Open-ended play is a novel approach toward children's play that can increase their creativity. This project was to design an open-ended toy that can increase children's social interaction while playing in different environments.

Objectives

Main research goal:

  • Identify the emotional and behavioral elements that influence children's social interaction.

  • Incorporating multisensory experience (different modalities) in an open-ended play.

Main project goal

  • enhance the social interaction experience for children around the age of 5 to 8 years old for both in and outdoor at primary school through an open-ended playing experience.
